After the SWVRJA page sends the browser to JailTracker, complete any disclaimer or captcha shown by the application. The roster model contains captcha fields, so a challenge may appear depending on traffic, session, or agency settings.

1. Open the SWVRJA current-inmates page or the direct JailTracker roster in a modern browser with JavaScript enabled.
2. Enter the last name first. Add the first name when the spelling is known, especially for common surnames.
3. Use any visible facility, agency, search-type, current-inmate, or released-since filters to narrow the result. The research confirmed these model fields, although the exact rendered options require the live app.
4. Review the grid for name, facility, booking number or jacket, original booking date, and status fields if public display is enabled.
5. Open the profile result for charges, bond fields, holds, court references, warrant or case numbers, booking image, and release status when those fields are exposed.
6. If no match appears, check alternate spellings, wait for intake processing, call Haysi for urgent custody questions, and search VADOC, BOP, ICE, or VINE if the person may have left local jail custody.

Visitation Hours and Rules

SWVRJA visitation is video-centered. The video-visitation page states that sessions are subject to monitoring and recording, inmates must face the camera, sessions must be scheduled 24 hours before appointment and up to two weeks in advance, and remote visits are scheduled through Smart Communications. Onsite video visitation was listed as suspended in the posted SWVRJA language due to COVID-19 CDC regulations. Visitors must be on the inmate's approved list and must present accepted photo identification.

The screenshot supports the schedule summary, but visitors should still confirm the current setting before paying for or scheduling a session because SWVRJA states rules can change and sessions can be denied, changed, or canceled at staff discretion.

How to Contact a Buchanan County Inmate

Regular mail for Haysi uses Smart Communications MailGuard, not the local jail street address. The name and ID number must be printed clearly; regular mail is scanned into kiosks or tablets, originals are destroyed, and original vital documents should not be sent. Voicemail is available for $1.00 through 863-400-5993 when the caller has a prepaid account and the inmate ID. Electronic messaging costs 50 credits, or $0.50, per message, and SWVRJA states inmates receive two free electronic messages every Saturday.

Commissary, Funds, VINE, and FOIA

SWVRJA accepts commissary funds by 24/7 lobby kiosk, JailATM online, and money order. Kiosks accept cash, credit, and debit, with cash accepted only in $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills. The SWVRJA research source listed a $3.25 fee for cash kiosk deposits and real-time posting. Money orders must include the sender name, return address, and inmate ID, and must arrive at least one business day before commissary to be available.
